DIRECTIONS : Elk Rock Garden at The Bishop's Close is located at 11800 SW Military Lane, Portland, OR.

HOURS : The Garden is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00pm.

PARKING : Parking is limited at the Garden. Garden visitors are asked to park in designated areas only. Buses, RV's and other large vehicles will have difficulty negotiating the parking lot and are not permitted.

RESTROOMS : here are no public restrooms at the Garden.

PHOTOGRAPHY : Commercial, portrait or photography for publication is by permission only. Fees may apply. Please contact the Garden for more information.

EVENTS : The Garden of The Bishop's Close at Elk Rock is the property and offices of the Episcopal Diocese of Portland and is generously open for the public to enjoy. As a result, The Bishop's Close is not available for special events.

TOURS : Group tours are available by request in advance. Garden tours will be limited by docent availability and the needs of the Episcopal Diocese. A donation is requested for groups visiting the Garden.

GARDEN RULES : Pedestrians only. Picnicking and lawn games, for example; Frisbees are not permitted; Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult; Dogs must be on a leash. Please clean up after your pet.

-To preserve historic Elk Rock Garden. the Garden of the Bishop’s Close as a private English landscape garden open to the public;
-To protect its rare and unusual collection of plants and its tranquil character;
-and To perpetuate the garden created by Peter Kerr for the enjoyment of future generations.
